I have already noted that our perception of time gives us the idea that plants are still. Anybody who has ever tried to swat a fly knows that to them we move very slowly.
What if there were creatures so fast that they are entirely invisible to us and all but the fastest photography? To these creatures we seem completely immobile and perhaps not even living. We are the landscape of their fast world where generations may live and die in less time than it takes for the shutter to open and close on a typical camera.
They may perceive us as the gods of time, the ancient watchers.
